April Fools’ Day – The most foolish dances in history

Did you know it’s illegal to dance at all in the small, midwestern town of Bomont? April Fool! Movie buffs will know Bomont is actually the fictional town from the 1984 movie “Footloose.” Kevin Bacon certainly looks foolish in his iconic warehouse dance scene, but who doesn’t look silly every now and then? It’s good to remember that it’s ok to laugh at ourselves, and what better time to laugh than on April Fools’ Day? So crank up the volume, put on your dancin’ shoes, and enjoy our list of some of the most foolish dances in history.

“Footloose”
Complete with 1980s pop music, pelvic thrusts and an impressive, yet unexpected gymnastics display, this dance scene definitely makes the list as one of our all-time favorite foolish dances.

The Carlton

No foolish dance conversation would be complete without the Carlton, the dance Alfonso Ribeiro made famous in his role as dorky cousin Carlton on the hit 1990s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
